PLAY MAKERS
Our mission is to offer all aspiring student-athletes an elite, competitve travel ball program where they can grow as players and people. Providing young competitiors with an environment where they can become champions on the field and in life. Our program also focuses on preparing players and their families for the collegiate level by coming alongside them througout the recruiting process. As a result, our main goal is to help all players under the 5 Star Playmakers banner recieve a college scholarship
WHAT IS A 5 STAR ATHLETE?
5-Star is the highest ranking that can be bestowed upon a college recruit, and it's undoubtedly an honor. It's a ranking that comes with a ton of publicity and hype, but it also brings a heavy amount of responsibility, accountability and expectations. The pressure is on when you're labeled as a 5-star recruit.
WHAT IS A PLAYMAKER?
1. Someone with exceptional ability in any particular area, and is able to perform at a high level with relative ease.
2. A very cool and/or likeable person.
3. Playmaker In sports, someone with the preternatural ability to influence the outcome of a game by making incredible plays. Every team needs a playmaker to turn to when the game is on the line.

Mark Campbell
1961-2019
As 5 Star PlayMakers embarks on this softball journey, we as an organization and coaching staff want to dedicate this page to honor the late Coach Mark Campbell. Coach Mark is arguably one of the greatest pioneers of our sport. He not only helped to further the sport of softball, but he also impacted the lives of hundreds of student-athletes. Two of the athletes he was able to impact are Irie Siofele and Dejah Mulipola. Irie Siofele had the extreme honor to play for Coach Mark from 10u-12u and high school; Dejah Mulipola also played for him from 10u-18u, as well as high school (her longest running coach to this day).
Coach Campbell coached with many travel ball organizations during his career but was mostly well known during his time with the OC Batbusters Organization. As a result of his dedication to his players, he led many of his teams to multiple National Championships.
Mark was also a big supporter of the Polynesian Community. He helped hundreds of student-athletes receive D-1 College Scholarships. As well as recently anointed College Home Run Leader Joselyn Alo & 2021 Freshmen player of the year Tiare Jennings. Coach Campbell has coached multiple U.S. Olympians during his career, Dejah Mulipola being one of them.
Besides being an elite travel ball coach, He was a revered high school coach at Pacifica High School. Coach Campbell was selected as Orange County Register’s Coach of the Year in his first season (2009). Also winning a CIF DIV-1 High School Championship in 2014. When Pacifica HS defeated ML King HS in an exciting 12 inning game. Winning at the High School level he said, “It’s a different feeling!”. Irie & Dejah we’re able to win a ASA National Championship, CIF Div 1 HS Championship as well as multiple PGF National Championships under his guidance.
Mark Campbell served as a homicide detective for the Inglewood Police Department, serving and protecting that community for decades. He also Co-Owned STC (Sports Training Complex) in Anaheim Mark Campbell was also a family man; a devoted husband to his lovely wife (Kayla); a loving father to his four children (Cory, Mallory, Erika, and Jaymee); and an adoring grandfather to his two grandchildren. The love he shared was not only reserved for the softball field, but was also shared and enjoyed by his loved ones and the community.
Overall, We here at 5 Star Playmakers can say that our organization is able to exist because of Coach Campbell’s guidance, contributions, and mentorship. The blueprint he was able to lay out for those who respected him is forever engrained into our minds. As a result, we can only hope to take the knowledge he shared with us and carry on his legacy, continue to inspire the youth, and grow the sport of softball to even greater heights.
